My Area

I cover a large area of Southern Maine, but primary area is Waterboro with my focus on Lake Arrowhead Community.

I also work in Limerick, Lyman, Hollis, Limington and Newfield, and the surrounding communities.

I also have a wide knowledge of the greater Portland area, with in-depth knowledge of both the buyer’s and seller’s perspectives. I am uniquely positioned to offer advice on real estate in Maine having served my real estate clients for over 20 years.

Communities

Waterboro

Abenaki Indians called the Waterboro area Massabesic, meaning “the place of much water”, a reference to the region’s lakes. It was part of an extensive tract of land purchased in 1661 by Major William Phillips of Saco from Chief Fluellin. Known as Massabesic Plantation, it included most of modern-day Waterboro, Alfred and Sanford. Phillips died in 1683, and the plantation eventually passed from his heirs to 10 proprietors. One of those proprietors was Colonel Joshua Waters, for whom the town would be named. Waterboro is crossed by U.S. Route 202 and state routes 4 and 5. It borders the towns of Alfred to the southwest, and Lyman to the southeast, Hollis to the northeast, Limerick and Limington to the north, Newfield to the northwest, and Shapleigh to the west. Lake Arrowhead

Lake Arrowhead has a total area of 6.4 square miles. This climatic region is typified by large seasonal temperature differences, with warm to hot (and often humid) summers and cold (sometimes severely cold) winters. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Lake Arrowhead has a humid continental climate. In the 2000 census, the population was spread out with 35.1% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 42.2% from 25 to 44, 12.9% from 45 to 64, and 3.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 30 years old. View Lake Arrowhead homes for sale

Limerick

This was territory of the Newichewannock Abenaki Indians, whose village was located on the Salmon Falls River. In 1668, Francis Small of Kittery, a trader, bought from Chief Captain Sunday (or Wesumbe) a large tract of land, for which he exchanged two blankets, two gallons of rum, two pounds of gunpowder, four pounds of musket balls and twenty strings of beads. Small thereupon sold half of his interest to Major Nicholas Shapleigh of Eliot, one of the wealthiest merchants in the Piscataqua region. View Limerick homes for sale

Hollis

The town of Hollis was originally called Little Falls Plantation, which also encompassed all of the town of Dayton and a small part of Limington, namely the area south of the Little Ossipee River. It was bought in 1664 by Major William Phillips from Hobinowell and Mogg Hegon, sagamores of the local Abenaki Indians. In 1728, the Massachusetts General Court ordered that a combination trading post and stockaded blockhouse be constructed on the Saco River to conduct trade with the Native Americans. It was made crudely of logs and equipped with a cannon. Ten men and a sergeant garrisoned it. View Hollis homes for sale
